About/Contact
Oxbow photo is maintained by Bobby Vogt and Olivia De Lancie. We are nature travelers and photographers based in California. Our goals are to share our travels, raise awareness about endangered species and to promote wildlife and habitat conservation. We frequently donate our works to charitable causes for fundraising purposes.
We enjoy getting out and experimenting with and learning how to use new gear, as well as observing and documenting animal behaviors along with the places they live.
Bobby is a professional biologist with a background in oceanography and terrestrial ecology with experience working on conservation issues in North Carolina, California, and Central America. He took interest in biology at a young age while fishing and exploring the outdoors, later pursuing a career in wildlife conservation and a scientific SCUBA diver. Olivia works as a project manager and has done charitable work in Peru, Ecuador, and lived for an extended period in the Amazon.
When we are not out taking photos and exploring the great outdoors, we spend our time planning trips and testing equipment for the next excursion. We also try to do our part to help the environmental causes we believe in, like recent work in Panama to study habitat use by endangered jaguars. To find out more, visit www.kaminando.org.
The welfare of the animals we photograph is of the utmost important to us, so we only participate in photography experiences with wild animals, or occasionally, rescue animals being cared for by reputable and ethical establishments. It’s our goal to tell the stories of interesting plant and animal life, and to support sustainable photo ecotourism.
We hope you enjoy what we have to share, and we that you are inspired to grab a camera get outside, and appreciate what nature has to offer!

Testimonials
“Bobby Vogt developed two outstanding Wildlife Photography Workshops for the Western Section of The Wildlife Society Annual Meetings. One workshop was presented live in-person, and the other was a pre-recorded workshop due to Covid-19. Both workshops were phenomenal and very well received by our wildlife biologist members. Note that Bobby's workshops are not your standard beginning photography class. His workshops are adventurous, fun to be a part of, and tell a story. Plus his wildlife photographs are stunning to boot! He is approachable, kind and funny. You won't regret time spent learning the craft of wildlife photography with Bobby Vogt! “
Candace Renger, Western Section of The Wildlife Society, Project Manager and Meeting Planner
“Bobby Vogt is not only a great photographer. He’s an excellent teacher, as well. My tutorials with him on a wide range of topics have been invaluable.”
